Merry Christmas!
I’ll try to be short and sweet with this one so ya’ll can get back to family. I wanted to touch on one aspect of the birth of Jesus that is possibly the most important:
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Matt 1:21
Now the name Jesus means one thing but some say it in different ways. The one that has stood out to me the most is: “YAWHEH saves”.
Now look at what is stated above. “Call his name JESUS: for HE shall save his people from their sins.” But Jesus means: YAWEH saves. But HE is doing the saving. Who is HE? Yahweh or Jesus? Who is doing the saving? Yahweh or Jesus?
The Answer: Yes.
That’s the whole point. Jesus, Yahweh, you are saying the same thing. He is Yahweh. He is God. Therefore you call His name JESUS (Yahweh Saves) for He (Jesus/Yahweh) shall save…
Christmas
If there is one thing to celebrate this Christmas it’s not just that a boy named Jesus was born over 2,000 years ago. It’s not that He lived a perfect life. It’s not that He died on the cross. The most spectacular thing, and the thing that makes all of it relevant, is that the baby boy who was born over 2,000 years ago was our very own Creator, Father, Eternal God, Master, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Sovereign, and Faithful One made human. There is no Christmas outside of that. His life, His ministry, His miracles, His death. It all means nothing if that baby boy is not God in human form.
Action
- Praise God for coming in human form over 2,000 years ago to save His people
- Confess to God the lack of focus on Jesus as the Divine God in human form
- Ask God to reveal more to you the Divine Nature of Jesus Christ
- Listen to this post’s song: Joy to the World
